Brooks' Baptism & Rocks Visit

On June 28th, 2009 Brooks Daniel Lane was Baptized at St. Joseph's Church in New London, CT. Dan's mother and sister made the trip all the way from Ohio to celebrate the day. The mass celebration was very nice and Brooks was the only child being baptized. The priest included and blessed all family and friends in the ceremony while at the alter, which made it very personal. Aunt Jackie, Dan's sister, and my step-brother, Coakley, were named Brooks' godparents. They did an outstanding job and Coakley didn't burn the church down with the candle... we were impressed.
After the ceremony we returned home to continue the celebration with good food, water fun and a moon bounce. The kids had a blast, as did the adults! Dan's mother brought a karaoke machine with her and the die hards were whaling away! Some were much better than others and some were too shy to open up alone, but they quickly became the backup singers. Pat got an award for her determination and persistance, but didn't get top vocals this time. Keep practicing! ;-) Kate saw a new side of Coakley when he took over the mic and amazingly they're still getting married!

The weekend was great, as we were able to spend quality time with Dan's mom and sister. We had a date night at Mohegan Sun and had a wonderful home cooked meal, lumpia and potatoes! Very YUMMY! The visit was definitely too short, but Emerson loved playing with her auntie and grandma and they loved meeting Brooks for the first time. She was sad that grandpa couldn't make it, but we called often to send love over the phone.

Grandma and Jackie - Thanks so much for driving so far to be part of Brooks' special day. We had a great time! Love ya!
